Though a reluctant performer I was taken at a young age by this need, this passion for creative expression. I taught myself to play the guitar and from that point on, music and songwriting were my therapy, my release.
The music world was always out there like a mirage. Like so many would be artists, I dabbled in it a little but never got traction. I followed the practical path, went to college and got a job. I continued to pursue music, but life happens, you have a family and need to grow up; still music and songwriting were simmering in the background. It was just always there like the northern star beckoning, drawing me however the wind or waves might carry me far astray. But here I am, still reaching and years later picked up where I left off. It's never too late to follow your dreams.
Compelled to perform, sharing the fleeting moments of a song, a story, drifting from the here and now yielding… to the magic. Sometimes you’re background music, and that’s ok. But sometimes, sometimes it happens, it resonates – becoming one with the audience. The artist and audience resume their lives with a memory unique to those few moments..
